case study: Full Armor Activewear
scope: company logo, silk screen t-shirt design and production

profile
Full Armor Activewear is a Phoenix based active clothing company that targets the Christian market with unique silk screened and iron pressed t-shirt and clothing accessories. Their vertical, yet growing market consists of people in all age brackets and religious Christian backgrounds.

challenge
Full Armor asked us to develop the illustration and design for two separate product lines that conveyed the clients focus on biblical themes. While the Christian market is changing in terms of design sensibility, they artwork needed to be Biblically sensitive yet unique in the marketplace. Color used in the t-shirt designs was a constantly important consideration, since limiting the number of PMS colors used in the silkscreen process significantly impacts production costs while allowing the client to pass that savings on to their customers.

discovery
We looked around the city to learn what the Christian community was used to seeing. We also spend a fair amount of time searching online for companies targeting this market. When we felt that we had a feel for what was considered “normal”, we looked the other direction and found inspiration.

results
Mediamode delivered 40 new t-shirt designs, 20 each for two distinct lines. Each line maintained a unique yet cohesive look and feel to ensure that it would be considered unique in the marketplace. Moreover, during the first week of development Mediamode Designers offered a new identity solution that was met favorably by the client and implemented on clothing tags and labeling. The client has contracted us to design and develope an ecommerce web site. Stay tuned.
